KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs have got suspended Marcus Peters for Sunday’s game against Oakland after the risky young cornerback’s embarrassing tantrum throughout a last-minute loss to the Jets final weekend.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Peters may not practice with the team as it works on to face the Raiders in an essential showdown between teams tied on top of the AFC West.

Peters, a good All-Pro last season, will come back the following week against the Chargers.

Peters has been involved in a series of incidents which have reflected poorly on the Chiefs, yet his antics last Sunday within New York pushed Reid to act. Peters threw an official’s flag to the stands after a late penalty, hunted off the field with a smile despite the fact that he had not been disqualified, after that had to run back to the sideline without wearing socks when he or she realized his mistake.
