WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans who spent the early several weeks of 2017 working with Democrats upon investigations into Russian interference within U. S. elections have pivoted as the new year begins, departing the conclusions of those congressional probes in doubt.
As special counsel Robert Mueller has ramped up their own investigation, Republicans have changed concentrate in their Russia probes. With Leader Donald Trump’s encouragement, multiple GOP-led congressional committees are now investigating the particular FBI and whether the bureau conspired against Trump.
With the exception of the United states senate Intelligence Committee, which has maintained bipartisan comity, it’s becoming increasingly likely that will Congress won’t be able to agree on whether or not Trump’s campaign was connected to the Ruskies meddling or on how to prevent the repeat of the Russian interference within 2016.
